A residence oriented to nothing
Our ninth residence has no fixed point, no dominant view, no solstice alignment. We had to learn a different discipline entirely.
Introduction
Every site has a feature to orient toward — except this one. Flat, enclosed, view-less.
The Adjustment
Without an external anchor, we oriented inward instead — toward a central courtyard we designed specifically to give the house something to look at.
The Lesson
Not every site gives you a gift. Sometimes you have to build the thing worth looking at yourself.
