Drawing the ceiling before the floor
Most plans start with the floor. We start by drawing where the ceiling changes height, and let the floor plan follow.
Introduction
Ceiling height is the one dimension most plans treat as an afterthought. We treat it as the starting point.
The Method
We mark every ceiling transition first — where a room compresses, where it opens up — because that rhythm is what a body actually feels walking through a house.
The Result
A floor plan drawn this way reads flat on paper but feels considered the moment you walk it.
